Junior midfielder Mitchell Cosler (Beavercreek) and senior forward Tyler Duhl (Golden, Colo./Proctor (N.H.) Academy) scored first-half goals and senior forward Franklin Rodriguez (Santiago, Dominican Republic/Berkshire (Mass.)) added a pair of second-half scores to help Ohio Wesleyan to a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Hiram on Tuesday at the Jay Martin Soccer Complex.

The Bishops took the lead in the 18th minute when junior forward Christopher Guerra (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) sent the ball ahead to senior back Brady West (Dublin/Columbus St. Charles), who centered it to Cosler, who tucked it into the right side of the Terrier goal.

Duhl made it 2-0 late in the first half.  Ohio Wesleyan had earned a corner kick, and Cosler sent the ball in, with Rodriguez playing it on into the box.  The ball bounced off a Hiram defender and popped up into the air, and Duhl was there to head it home with 5:30 remaining in the half.

Rodriguez opened the second-half scoring in the 48th minute, fielding a centering pass from West, then taking a touch past a Hiram defender and firing a shot that glanced off another Terrier defender and into the goal.

Senior forward Jaggar Brooker (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) set up the Bishops' fourth goal, making a run along the left end line and centering to Rodriguez, who tipped it into the net in the 55th minute.

In the 66th minute, freshman back Alex Bucher (Centerville) had a shot stopped by Hiram keeper Tyler Jurgensen, but senior midfielder Justin Carro (Wharton, N.J./Morris Hills) pounced on the rebound and scored.

The Bishops closed out the scoring in the 85th minute when senior midfielder Drew Doza (Lexington, Ky./Dunbar) sent the ball ahead to junior forward Aiden Wightman (Beavercreek), who played it ahead to freshman forward Sam Owusu Sarfo (Columbus/Worthington Christian), who made a run and squeezed off a shot into the Hiram goal.

"This was a good game for this time of the season," said Bishop head coach Jay Martin.  "We got a lot of guys in, and we scored a lot of goals.  It was good timing for that kind of game."

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Hiram, 41-6.  Junior goalkeeper Sam Whitman (Baltimore, Md./Friends School of Baltimore) made 2 saves and freshman Zach Hertzberg (Austin, Texas/Cedar Park) completed the shutout in the Bishop goal.
