Junior forward Christopher Guerra (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) scored a pair of goals, including what proved to be the game-winner, as Ohio Wesleyan defeated DePauw in a North Coast Atlantic Conference contest on Tuesday in Greencastle, Ind.

The win moves Ohio Wesleyan into first place in the NCAC with a 6-0-1 record and 19 points, 3 points ahead of Denison (5-0-1), which plays at Wooster on Wednesday.  Ohio Wesleyan and Denison will square off in the regular-season finale on Saturday in Granville.

Guerra gave the Bishops a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 31st minute when his shot got past Tiger keeper Sam Ortner and into the goal.

Less than 90 seconds later, senior forward Jaggar Brooker (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) fired a shot that Ortner stopped, and senior forward Franklin Rodriguez (Santiago, Dominican Republic/Berkshire (Mass.)) scored on the follow shot at the 31:56 mark of the half.

The Tigers closed to within 2-1 when Braden Murphy converted a penalty kick in the 54th minute.

Ohio Wesleyan answered after earning a corner kick in the 60th minute.  Senior back Brady West (Dublin/Columbus St. Charles) headed the ball forward inside the penalty area, and junior back Gabe O'Reilly (Westerville/Columbus St. Charles) played the ball to Guerra, who scored from close range.

DePauw closed to within 3-2 when Sebastion Leon scored off a Tye Williams feed with 16:55 left in the game, but the Bishop defense allowed the Tigers only 2 shots during the remainder of the contest, with both going wide.

DePauw outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 14-12.  Junior goalkeeper Sam Whitman (Baltimore, Md. Friends School of Baltimore) was credited with 2 saves.
