Senior guard Henry Hinkle (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) had a game-high 33 points, tying his career best, as the Bishops powered through to win 70-63 over La Roche on Monday at Branch Rickey Arena.

After getting off to a slow start, the Bishops were able to get on the board when fifth-year post Tony Carter (Cleveland/Parma Heights Holy Name) tipped in a rebound from Hinkle.  From there, they built up their lead with senior wing David Rice (Cleveland/Parma Padua Franciscan) notching a layup to make it double digits.

La Roche battled back at the end of the first half, scoring a jumper and a 3-pointer to pull within 31-25.

The game picked up in the second half when La Roche closed the gap between the two teams to just one point with 12:55 left on the clock.  A layup by Joe Starzynski gave the Redhawks their first lead of the game.

Both teams traded points with neither leading by more than 2 points, with the game being tied 4 times after that until the Bishops found their groove with 4:19 to go.

A 7-0 run gave Ohio Wesleyan an advantage that they held on to.  Their scoring efforts to close the game featured back-to-back points from Hinkle, a 3-pointer from Carter, and 4 free throws each from the pair.

Hinkle led the game with 33 points and 4 assists while Carter followed with 11 points.
