Ohio Wesleyan University junior Jake Smothers (Radnor/Buckeye Valley) was named to the D3football.com All-Region IV teams, it was announced today.

Smothers, a cornerback, was a second-team all-region selection.

Smothers led the North Coast Athletic Conference in interceptions (6) and ranked third in the league in passes defended per game (1.00).  He also ranked third among Bishop defensive backs in tackles (37).

The Battling Bishops finished the season with a 4-6 record.  Ohio Wesleyan was 3-5 in NCAC play, finishing sixth in the final league standings.
