Junior back Tristan Ruiz de Somocurcio (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Preparatory) scored to give Ohio Wesleyan the lead, but 13th-ranked Ohio Northern rallied for a pair of late goals to defeat the Bishops in non-conference play on Wednesday in Ada.

Ruiz de Somocurcio scored midway through the first half to put the Bishops ahead, with senior forward Jaggar Brooker (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) credited with an assist on the play.

Junior goalkeeper Sam Whitman (Baltimore, Md./Friends School of Baltimore) protected the lead during the second half, stopping a shot by Ohio Northern's Chase Robinson in the 58th minute and one by Ryan Sommerfeld less than 2 minutes later.

Junior forward Christopher Guerra (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) had a look at an insurance goal, but Polar Bear keeper Carson Zurmehly was there for the save in the 63rd minute.

Noah Zebrak got the equalizer for Ohio Northern, scoring an unassisted goal with 7:57 left in regulation time.

Junior midfielder Ryan Betts (Columbus/Olentangy Berlin) had a chance at the go-ahead score in the 83rd minute, but Zurmehly made the stop.

Ohio Northern's William Shaffer tallied the game-winner with :34 left in the contest.  Sommerfeld and Vinnie Chaput were credited with assists.

Ohio Northern outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 18-11.  Whitman finished with 2 saves in the Bishop goal.
