Senior midfielder Landon Kuhn (Lewis Center/Olentangy Berlin) tallied the go-ahead goal and senior forward Jaggar Brooker (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) had a goal and an assist during the second half as Ohio Wesleyan reeled off 4 consecutive goals on the way to a non-conference win over Otterbein on Saturday in Westerville.
The Cardinals took an early lead when Carter Ely sent the ball to Mitchell Patterson, who finished the chance in the 11th minute.
Junior forward Christopher Guerra (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) provided the equalizer in the 15th minute, fielding a pass from junior back Gabe O'Reilly (Westerville/Columbus St. Charles) and getting a shot past Otterbein keeper Jason Villalobos.
Kuhn notched an unassisted goal in the opening minutes of the second half to put the Bishops ahead to stay.
Brooker set up a goal by junior midfielder Mathias Koo (Galena/Olentangy Orange) in the 57th minute, then converted a penalty kick for a 4-1 Bishop lead in the 71st minute.
Ely closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 86th minute.
Ohio Wesleyan outshot Otterbein, 16-13. Junior goalkeeper Sam Whitman (Baltimore, Md./Friends School of Baltimore) made 4 saves during the first 81-plus minutes, and freshman Zach Hertzberg (Austin, Texas/Cedar Park) finished up in the Bishop goal.
