DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University volleyball team welcomed Oberlin to town Saturday afternoon, looking to continue impressive conference play. The Battling Bishops took care of business in quick fashion, winning in straight sets for the fifth time this season.
OWU improves to 12-13 on the season, with a 5-2 mark in the NCAC, good for third place. Oberlin falls to 3-20 overall, and are 0-6 in conference.

Lily Bechina,
Reagan Brake,
Bella Guzzetta, and manager Jacob DeMaggio were recognized for their contributions to the volleyball program prior to the match.
Set one was a back-and-forth affair to start, as both sides found themselves knotted at 13. The Red and Black pulled away short after however, going on a 12-4 run to take the first set. The second set was all OWU from the start, as the squad built a 12-9 lead and never looked back, ultimately leading to a 25-12 victory and commanding two-set lead. The Battling Bishops used the lead as momentum, as they soared out to an early 12-4 lead in set three. Both sides exchanged points late, but OWU held onto their advantage and closed the match with a 25-19 win.
THE NUMBERS
Ohio Wesleyan tallied 32 kills, with
Natalie Dieball leading the squad with 11, followed closely by
Mason Campbell and
Abby Nulph with seven apiece.
The Bishops accounted for 15 service aces, led by
Avery Krause with nine. Campbell and Nulph recorded three each.
The Red and Black made seven blocks on the defensive end. Nulph continued her impressive statline with three block assists and one solo.
Reagan Brake and
Jordanne Shannon had three block assists apiece.
Lily Bechina was the leading setter once again with 20 of the team's 30 assists.
Bella Guzzetta followed Bechina with six.
The Red and Black notched 33 digs in the contest. Bechina led the way with eight, Guzzetta had seven, and Campbell recorded five.

The Bishops will travel to Chicago on Saturday, November 8th, for a doubleheader against North Park and Coe. Those matches are set to begin at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. (CST), respectively.
