Bishops Unable to Break Through, Tie Wooster 1-1

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's soccer team concluded their season Saturday afternoon, as they traveled to Wooster to take on the Fighting Scots. Two first half goals determined the contest, as both sides scored early and were unable to break the 1-1 stalemate.  

The tie ends the Ohio Wesleyan season at 3-6-9, with a 0-2-5 mark in the NCAC. Wooster moves to 11-3-3 and 3-2-2 in conference.

The Battling Bishops got on the board first, as Tiffany Trinh found the back of the net in the 24th minute. The Scots responded before the break however, when Paige Schulz converted a pass from Charlotte Sefcik. The familiar foes went into halftime tied 1-1, hoping to strike after the intermission. 

In the second half, both sides generated opportunities, as OWU recorded nine shots, and Wooster had eight. However, neither team could execute, bringing the Bishops season to a close with their ninth tie. 

THE NUMBERS 
The Battling Bishops fired 17 shots, eight on goal, while Wooster tallied 13 attempts with seven on target.

OWU earned three corner kicks, while Wooster tallied two. 

Tiffany Trinh took three shots and notched her second goal of the season, finishing the year with seven points. 

Other Bishops generating chances were Athena Kolettis (4 SH, 2 SOG), Jordyn Adams (2 SH, 1 SOG), Ava Bruns (1 SH, 1 SOG), Avery Curtin (1 SH, 1 SOG), Mia Bucci (1 SH, 1 SOG), Kaia Vorencamp (4 SH), and Beatrice Douglas-Arnold (1 SH). 

Natalie Ryan (3-6-9) played the full 90 minutes and made six saves.
