TIFFIN, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's basketball team squared off with Olivet on day two of the Ron Linhart Memorial Classic, hosted by Heidelberg. The Battling Bishops struggled from the floor, shooting just 33.9% overall and 31.6% from three, which led to a 68-56 loss.
The Red and Black fall to 2-2. Olivet improves to 2-2 on the year.
OWU started well, jumping out to a 18-15 lead, led by
Jessee Battle with nine early points. However, it would be the last time the Bishops held the lead, as Olivet found its rhythm and never looked back. The Comets would go on a 16-2 run to end the first half, entering halftime with a 11-point lead over the Red and Black.
After the break, the Bishops cut the deficit to five, but that would be the closest they would come to regaining the lead. Moments later, Olivet put together another run—this time 14-5—to quickly extend the lead to 53-39. The Comets maintained their lead the remainder of the way, defeating the Bishops 68-56.
After the tournament concluded, Senior
