Bishops Breeze Past Heidelberg 86-48

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's basketball team hosted Heidelberg on Saturday afternoon in a game that the Battling Bishops would ultimately run away with, winning 86-48. All 18 Bishops got into the game that featured 13 different scorers including three with double digits.

OWU moves to 3-1 on the new year while Heidelberg remains winless at 0-4.

The Bishops started hot by getting out to a 10-0 before the halfway point of the first quarter. That was just the beginning for the Red and Black as they finished the first on a 17-4 run, leading to a lopsided 27-6 margin at the first break. Ohio Wesleyan would keep it going in the second quarter, going on a 16-3 run to start the period and outscoring the Student Princes 24-9 to build the lead to 51-15, up 36 points at the half.

Heidelberg began to make a small dent in their deficit with a 23-18 quarter win in the third to make it 69-38, but this was promptly erased when the Bishops put up 17 and held the Student Prince to just 10 to close it out. In the end, OWU would hold a 38-point advantage on the scoreboard, winning 86-48.
