ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's basketball team were back under the bright lights of a Division I arena on Tuesday night, heading southeast for an exhibition matchup with Ohio.
The Battling Bishops held their own in the first half, narrowing the Bobcats' lead down to just six with 4:44 left thanks to an 11-0 run. This led to a very respectable halftime score of 43-31 at the half with the Bishops only 12 points back of their DI opponents. The second half was a bit of a different story as OU pulled away, outscoring OWU 46-25 en route to an 89-56 final result.
Ohio Wesleyan stays 3-6 on the season. Ohio moves to 5-6 as they head into Mid-American Conference play.
THE NUMBERS
Isaac Ward led the way with 13 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
Peyton Frey put up 12 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds alongside three assists and one block.
James McCarthy recorded nine points and one steal.
Jessee Battle tallied seven points and two rebounds.
Kevin Gallagher scored six points with one rebound.
Anthony Mordini nabbed five points and three rebounds.
Quinn Hart secured four rebounds with three points, one assist, and one steal.
