SANDUSKY, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University volleyball team finished off opening weekend with a 3-1 win over Brockport on Saturday morning to remain undefeated on the young season.
The Battling Bishops move to 3-0 in 2025. Brockport drops to 1-2.
The Bishops would break out to an early lead, winning the first two sets 25-22 and 25-15. OWU would hold an early lead in set three but ultimately fall 17-25. Fortunately the Red and Black bounced back in set four 25-18 to take the victory, 3-1.
THE NUMBERS
Natalie Dieball led the Bishops offense with 14 of the team's 41 total kills. Megan Lantis tallied nine, followed by Jordanne Shannon with eight.
Ohio Wesleyan would record nine aces in the match, led by Lantis with three and Maggi Wall with two.
Reagan Brake and Shannon both recorded career highs with eight blocks apiece as part of 11 total for the Battling Bishops. Abby Nulph finished with three.
Lily Bechina notched 24 assists as OWU's leading setter. Jenna Ashbrook recorded six and Bella Guzzetta tallied five.
Guzzetta and Bechina also led the squad in digs, with 16 and 14 respectively. Dieball booked seven as the team totalled 54 on the day.

The Bishops will host the NCAC/MIAA Crossover next weekend, starting with a 5:00 p.m. match against Albion at Branch Rickey Arena.
