GENEVA, N.Y. – The Ohio Wesleyan University field hockey team finished off their weekend in New York on Sunday with a midday matchup with William Smith. Unfortunately, the Battling Bishops would be scoreless on the afternoon, ending in 0-3 loss.
The Red and Black would get their fair share of chances to score, putting up eight shots throughout, with three finding their target.
On the other end, William Smith would open the scoring 12 minutes into the first quarter before adding two more in the 36th minute and the 55th minute to bring the final scoreline to 0-3.
THE NUMBERS
OWU was outshot 8-22, 3-12 in shots on target.
Grace Ammon led the offense with three shot attempts.
Avery Slucher took two shots, putting one on goal.
Emma Wright and
Mary Powers both put their only shots on target.
Maddie Federico took the lone remaining attempt, falling offline.
Payton Mindel (0-2) got the start in goal and played the full 60 minutes. She has now set career highs for saves in back-to-back games, with nine on the afternoon.
