DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University volleyball team squared off with Otterbein at home Saturday, looking to build momentum off an exciting road victory against Capital the night before. However, the Cardinals controlled the contest from the start, and the Bishops fell in straight sets, 3-0.
OWU drops to 5-7, Otterbein improves to 11-1.
Set one was tightly contested early, trading points until Otterbein broke away to take a 19-13 advantage. The Cardinals built on their lead and did not look back, taking a 25-19 one-set lead. OWU stormed ahead 13-7 in the second set, but Otterbein clawed back and tied things at 16-16. The Cardinals carried that momentum the rest of the set, pulling away for a 25-20 victory. Set three was all Otterbein, as they sealed the match with a 25-14 win.

The Red and Black recorded 27 kills in the match.
Mason Campbell,
Natalie Dieball, and
Jordanne Shannon led the match with seven kills each.
Bella Guzzetta led the team with three aces.
Jenna Ashbrook,
Mason Campbell, and
Maggi Wall recorded one apiece.
The Bishops tallied two blocks, with
Abby Nulph and
Jordanne Shannon each recording one.
Ashbrook was the leading setter with 24 of the team's 27 assists.
Guzzetta led the way with 15 digs.
Sarah Thomas and
Natalie Dieball tallied five and four respectively.
