DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's soccer team hosted Hardin-Simmons under the lights Saturday night. The contest remained deadlocked at 0-0 through regulation.
Both teams generated opportunities, but strong defensive play kept the game scoreless.
OWU moves to 2-1-1 on the season. Hardin-Simmons to 2-0-1.
THE NUMBERS
The Battling Bishops would get five shots off, with one on goal. Hardin-Simmons totaled 27, with 10 on goal.
The Bishops were led offensively by
Halle Dacek with two chances, and Kaia Vorencamp, who placed the shot on goal.
Tiffany Trinh and
Avery Curtin also contributed with one shot a piece.
OWU's defensive front highlighted by Douglas-Arnold,
Caroline Prahst,
Izzy Trahey-Matzen, and
Ava Kolettis anchored the second shutout of the season.
Senior
Natalie Ryan (2-1-1) was outstanding in net, tallying 10 saves on the night.
