Bishops Sweep Kenyon, Remain Undefeated in NCAC

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University volleyball team (10-7, 3-0 NCAC) hosted Kenyon (7-14, 0-3 NCAC) on Tuesday evening. The Bishops made a clean sweep of Kenyon, winning 3-0 and remaining undefeated within the NCAC conference.

The Battling Bishops started off the first set with an early 8-2 lead thanks to a run of six straight points. OWU held their lead throughout the entire set, growing it to a hefty 20-5 following an 11-1 run that saw service aces from Natalie Dieball and Avery Krause. Sophomore Maggi Wall landed back-to-back service aces to close out the set at 25-10.

Ohio Wesleyan came off hot in the second set, taking the first five points for an early advantage. The Bishops remained in the lead throughout despite a bit of pushback from the Owls in the later stages, ultimately taking a 25-20 set victory after a set-point kill by Jordanne Shannon.

OWU faced their only deficit of the night at the beginning of set three when Kenyon held a 5-3 edge. However, that was quickly snuffed out after a 5-1 string put the Bishops ahead 8-6. Ohio Wesleyan took the set well in hand following an 8-1 run shortly thereafter, making it a 16-10 game.
