Bishops Shut Out Wooster, Remain Undefeated in NCAC

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University volleyball team (12-8, 4-0 NCAC) stayed undefeated in NCAC play on Wednesday night, shutting out their third conference opponent in the first four games and defeating Wooster (9-11, 1-3 NCAC) 3-0.

Ohio Wesleyan started out strong with an 8-1 lead thanks in part to three kills by Abby Nulph. A little while later, the Bishops put together a 6-1 run to grow their lead to 11 points at 21-10. The Red and Black closed it out with four of the last five points to take the set 25-13.

After trailing 5-3 at the start of set two, OWU put together a 12-3 run to take a 17-10 lead. Five different attackers recorded kills during the streak, but Jordanne Shannon finished it off with back-to-back strikes. Ohio Wesleyan went on to win eight of the last 11 points to take the set 25-16. Anna Kenealy recorded the final kill to close out the win.

The third set started even at 6-6 before the Battling Bishops took four straight points for a 10-6 advantage. Wooster then re-narrowed the margin back down one at 17-16. That was as close as the Scots would come as the Red and Black retook control, finishing off the set and the match with an 8-1 run. Kenealy and Megan Lantis each collected a pair of back-to-back kills as OWU won 25-17.
