GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's tennis team continued conference play on Saturday afternoon with a match at Denison. In the end, the Battling Bishops suffered a sweep, 7-0.
OWU moves to 3-2 on the year and drops to 0-2 in the NCAC. Denison improves to 3-2 this season and 2-0 in conference play.
The Battling Bishops started off at a 1-0 disadvantage after dropping the three doubles matches.
Mallory Hannan and
Lily Hershey lost 6-1 in match one. The pair of
Daniela Guzman and
Frankie Nuss, along with the pair of
Marissa Zaleski and
Emma Pzedpelski dropped matches two and three by scores of 6-0.
Proceeding to singles, the Bishops struggles continued with six more losses, bringing the final score to 7-0 in favor of the hosts. Pzedpelski secured four games in match four but lost 6-2, 6-2. Guzman managed to win two games in match six but suffered a 6-1, 6-1 fate. Hannan, Hershey, and Garnett each tallied one game win in matches one, three, and five. Hannan and Garnett both fell 6-1, 6-0 while Hershey's result was 6-0, 6-1. Nuss was shutout 6-0, 6-0.
