SALEM, Va. – On Thursday afternoon, the Rotary Club of Salem, Virginia announced the 22 men's and women's finalists for the 2026 Jostens Trophy honors. Named among the list of 11 finalists on the women's side was Ohio Wesleyan University junior forward
Macy Miller. She is the first finalist from Ohio Wesleyan since
Kasey Schipfer in 2024.
The Jostens Trophy honors are two prestigious national awards – one for men and one for women – created by the Rotary Club of Salem and sponsored by Jostens, Inc. to recognize the most outstanding player of the year in Division III men's and women's basketball. The award focuses on three major areas of well-rounded student-athlete: basketball ability, academic prowess, and service to one's community – encapsulating the Rotary International motto of "Service Above Self".
On the court, Miller secured NCAC Player of the Year and All-NCAC First Team honors while leading the Battling Bishops to a 21-6 record – 11-3 in conference play – and their fourth-straight NCAA tournament appearance with hosting rights, ultimately ending in a close second-round loss to a high-powered WashU team. She started 24 of her 25 games played, leading the NCAC in rebounding with 11.7 RPG and a close second in scoring with 16.2 PPG. Miller also ended second in the conference in blocks with 1.7 BPG, third in steals with 2.3 SPG, and third in field goal percentage.
Miller also provided some big moments on the court this season, most notably at home against Kenyon on January 14th when she became the 20th Bishop in program history to surpass 1000 career points. A few weeks earlier, on January 3rd she became the first Bishop to pull down 20 or more rebounds since 2000, grabbing a career-high 20. Finally, in the regular season finale on February 21st, Miller recorded yet another career high with 29 points at Denison.
Off the court, Miller excels in the classroom as an Exercise Science major, earning Dean's list recognition during all five of her semesters at Ohio Wesleyan. In the community she has embodied the Rotary International motto of "Service Above Self" as a dedicated leader in OWU's partnership with Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Delaware County. With that, Miller has committed to weekly youth mentorship over the past three years and has become a beloved figure in local elementary and middle schools, providing an inspiring role model for local children.
Miller's name will now advance on to the national selection committee who will announce the winners of the 2026 Jostens Trophy honors in the coming weeks.
