INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Monday afternoon, the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Committee announced the 64 teams that will be filling the field for the 2026 NCAA DIII Women's Basketball Championship. Ohio Wesleyan University earned an at-large selection to the tournament and was elected as a host institution.
The Battling Bishops will welcome DeSales, WashU, and SUNY Geneseo to town on Friday and Saturday March 6th and 7th for first and second round games at Branch Rickey Arena. The weekend will start out with WashU going up against SUNY Geneseo at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, followed by OWU's matchup against DeSales at 7:15 p.m., with the two winners meeting on Saturday at 7:15 p.m.
The Red and Black come into the tournament 20-5 overall after finishing the NCAC schedule 11-3 and being knocked out by John Carroll in the NCAC Tournament semifinals. Ohio Wesleyan is currently ranked 16th in the NCAA Power Index.
