NORTHBROOK, Ill. – On Monday, Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced the nominees for the 2026 Good Works Team. Ohio Wesleyan University rising senior offensive lineman Mike Seney was named amongst the 162 nominees.

The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team – established in 1992 by the College Football Association – honors college football players at all levels of the sport for their selfless acts of giving back to the community and off-the-field achievements. The 2026 team will be comprised of 11 student-athletes from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and 11 student-athletes from a combination of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Division II, Division III, and the NAIA, along with one honorary head coach. The final roster of 23 award recipients will be announced in September.

Seney – a rising senior from Perrysburg by way of Findlay – started all 10 games in his first season with the Bishops last year, playing primarily at the center position. In the classroom, he is an Education major and has earned CSC Academic All-District and OWU Top 50 honors. In the community, Seney volunteers with Team IMPACT, the 2nd & 7 Foundation, Special Olympics, and Common Ground Free Store, along with donating his hair to Children with Hair Loss. He is in a field of 49 student-athlete nominees from FCS, DII, DIII, and NAIA.

Seney and the Battling Bishops will open up the 2026 season at home on September 3, hosting Bluffton at 7 p.m. at Selby Stadium.
