GAMBIER, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's cross country team began the 2026 season at the Port Kenyon Opener on Friday night. The meet was a head-to-head matchup between the Battling Bishops and the Owls on the 6000-meter course. OWU came across second with 45 points.
Jacob Blubaugh led the way with a third-place finish and a time of 19:55.4.
Tyler Stricker was next in 11th with a time of 21:13.7.
The remaining three scorers for the Red and Black were
Cooper Zunt in 17th at 22:25.3,
Haden Kirkham in 19th at 22:32.1, and
Caleb Martin in 21st at 22:59.4.
The next two to finish for the Bishops were
Eli Creed and Maxwell Wolf. Creed came in 22nd with a time of 22:59.9 while Wolf was 23rd with a time of 23:09.0.
