Owen Albers enters his second season as an assistant football coach at Ohio Wesleyan. He coaches the Battling Bishop safeties. Albers also is in his first season as director of football operations.
Albers began his coaching career at Alfred State (N.Y.) College, where he coached the defensive backs. Three Pioneer defensive backs were named to the All-Eastern Collegiate Football Conference teams, including the league leader in interceptions. He also served as social media coordinator and co-video coordinator.
He is a 2022 Ohio Wesleyan graduate, majoring in sports and exercise management. During his Battling Bishop career, he played for 4 years, earning second-team all-region and first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference recognition as a strong safety. His senior year, he shared the NCAC lead in forced fumbles and ranked second in the conference in interceptions.
Albers is a native of North Ridgeville, Ohio.
