Nate Axelrod

Nate Axelrod enters his second season as a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's basketball coaching staff.
 
He returned to Ohio Wesleyan after serving one season as an assistant coach at Oberlin College.  He helped guide the Yeomen to a 13-13 record, including a 9-9 mark in North Coast Athletic Conference play.

Axelrod is a 2018 Ohio Wesleyan graduate.  He capped his Battling Bishop career by winning the Jostens Trophy as the nation's most outstanding NCAA Division III men's basketball player and receiving NCAA Division III Player of the Year laurels from D3hoops.com.  Axelrod was a 3-time All-America selection by both the National Association of Basketball Coaches and D3hoops.com, and was a 2-time Academic All-America® choice.  He was named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year for 3 years in a row, making him the first men's basketball player in conference history to be so honored.  He was a 4-time, first-team All-NCAC selection, only the third men's basketball player in conference history to accomplish that feat, and was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year in 2015.  His senior year, he led the NCAC in scoring (19.2 points/game) and assists, becoming the first player in conference history to lead the league in scoring and assists in a season.  Axelrod finished his career as the second Ohio Wesleyan men's basketball player and the fourth in NCAC history to surpass the 2000-point mark, and is Ohio Wesleyan's all-time leader in assists (655) and consecutive games started (114).

He majored in finance economics at Ohio Wesleyan.
