Ohio Wesleyan University junior Matt Hunter (Lexington, Mass.) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of March 3, it was announced by the NCAC.
Hunter, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's track & field team, was named Men's Track & Field Player of the Week.
Hunter won the hepathlon at the NCAC combined events competition on Saturday and Sunday. Hunter had the meet's best effort in the 60-meter dash, winning in a school-record :06.98, the long jump (21-6¾), the high jump (6-1¼), and the 60-meter hurdles (:08.30). His effort of 14-¾ in the pole vault was second-best, and his time of 2:53.73 in the 1000-meter run was third-best, as was his throw of 35-9¼ in the shot put. His score of 5155 points broke the school record of 4820 he set last year. Hunter's score also set NCAC and Ohio Division III records and ranks fourth among NCAA Division III competitors this season.
