Melton Named North Coast Athletic Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week for Week of Oct. 8
Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore Kor'Darius Melton (Warner Robins, Ga./Houston County) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 8, it was announced by the NCAC.
Melton, a defensive end on the Ohio Wesleyan football team, was named Football Defensive Player of the Week.
Melton scored touchdowns less than 90 seconds apart in Ohio Wesleyan's 49-7 win against Kenyon on Saturday. He scored on an 8-yard fumble return to increase the Bishop lead to 21-0 midway through the first quarter, and on Kenyon's following possession, he intercepted a screen pass and returned it 27 yards for a touchdown just 1:25 later. He recovered a Kenyon fumble at the Kenyon 28-yard line on the opening possession of second half, setting up a Bishop field goal attempt. On the day, he finished with 3 tackles, including a sack, along with the interception and pair of fumble recoveries.
