Ohio Wesleyan University junior Matt Hunter (New Concord/John Glenn) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of April 28, it was announced by the NCAC.
Hunter, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's track & field team, was named Men's Field Event Performer of the Week.
Hunter won the NCAC decathlon championship, scoring 6347 points to set school and NCAC records. He had the meet's best efforts in the 100-meter dash (:11.01), long jump (20-7¾), 400-meter dash (:51.09), and the pole vault (13-7), while his efforts in the high jump (5-9¼), 110-meter hurdles (:15.04), and discus (94-1) ranked second in the meet. The decathlon championship was the second in a row for Hunter.
