Ohio Wesleyan University junior Claude Gray (Avon) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 2, it was announced by the NCAC.
Gray, a post on the Ohio Wesleyan men's basketball team, was named Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Gray scored 18 first-half points and added 5 points during a 12-0 second-half run that opened up a 15-point lead as Ohio Wesleyan defeated 10th-ranked Wooster, 92-85, on Wednesday. He finished with a team-high 29 points as the Bishops completed their first 2-game sweep of Wooster since the 1987-88 season. On Saturday, Gray scored 17 points as Ohio Wesleyan moved into sole possession of first place in the NCAC standings with a 70-64 win at Hiram.
