Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore Iris Anderson (Elk Grove, Calif./Christian Brothers) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 14, it was announced by the NCAC.
Anderson, an outside hitter on the Ohio Wesleyan volleyball team, was named Volleyball Player of the Week.
Anderson led Ohio Wesleyan with 18 kills as the Bishops opened the week with a 3-0 win over Muskingum on Wednesday, Ohio Wesleyan's first win over the Muskies since the 1993 season.
She then led the Bishops to 4 straight wins at the Rose-Hulman Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, collecting 7 kills and a team-high 16 digs against Millikin, a team-high 15 kills and 21 digs against Centre, a team-best 16 kills against Franklin, and 16 kills and a team-best 20 digs against Rose-Hulman. Anderson was named to the Rose-Hulman Invitational all-tournament team.
On the week, she compiled 72 kills (3.79 per set) and 93 digs (4.89 per set).
