Ohio Wesleyan University junior Megan Kuether (Osgood/Marion Local) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 11, it was announced by the NCAC.
Kuether, a guard on the Ohio Wesleyan women's basketball team, was named Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Kuether sank a pair of free throws to put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay during the second overtime period in a 101-94 win over Wooster on Wednesday. She finished with 34 points, tying her career high, and had a team-high 6 assists, establishing a career best. Kuether then established a new career high with 37 points in an 88-82 win at Allegheny on Saturday. The 37 points ranks fourth on the all-time Ohio Wesleyan single-game list. She also collected 4 assists and 4 steals. In OWU's 2 NCAC wins during the week, she scored 71 points (35.5/game) and went 26-for-45 from the field, 5-for-9 from 3-point range, and 14-for-16 from the line. Kuether opened the week with a team-high 18 points in a non-conference game against Baldwin Wallace. On the week, she averaged 29.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
