Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore Shouta Fukamachi (Mayfield Heights/Mayfield) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of March 14, it was announced by the NCAC.
Fukamachi, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's tennis team, was named Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Fukamachi went 2-1 at No. 1 singles during Ohio Wesleyan's spring trip last week as the Bishops won 3 of 4 matches. He opened the week with a 6-2, 6-1 win against Juniata, then lost by scores of 6-1, 6-3 against Coe before coming back to record a 6-0, 6-0 win against Clark. In doubles competition, he went 2-1 at No. 1, helping the Bishops to a 9-7 win against Juniata, falling by an 8-3 score against Coe, and winning, 8-3, against Clark.
