Ohio Wesleyan University senior Aaron Port (Parma/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of April 11, it was announced by the NCAC.
Port, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's track & field team, was named Men's Field Event Performer of the Week.
Port won the decathlon competition at the All-Ohio combined events meet with a total of 5898 points. He had the meet's best performances in the discus, javelin, and shot put. His throw of 134-3 in the discus outdistanced his nearest competitor by more than 35 feet, his throw of 149-11 in the javelin was tops by nearly 20 feet, and his margin of victory in the shot put was a fraction short of 10 feet. Port also tied for the meet's best effort in the pole vault, clearing 12-11¾. He was second overall in the 100-meter dash with a time of :12.01, and his time of :16.26 in the 110-meter hurdles was third-fastest.
