Ohio Wesleyan University senior Aaron Port (Parma/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of May 2, it was announced by the NCAC.
Port, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's track & field team, was named Men's Field Event Athlete of the Week.
Port set a conference record in winning the NCAC decathlon title at the NCAC combined events meet on Saturday and Sunday. He had the meet's best performances in the shot put (47-¾), discus (132-1), and javelin (179-8) and was second overall in the 100-meter dash (:11.44) and 110-meter hurdles (:15.46). Port finished with a score of 6585 points, breaking the NCAC record of 6420 points set by Josh Guerrieri of Wittenberg in 2001.
