Ohio Wesleyan University junior Will Orr (Johnstown/Johnstown-Monroe) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 21, it was announced by the NCAC.
Orr, a wing player on the Ohio Wesleyan men's basketball team, was named Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Orr drilled a pair of 3-pointers as eighth-ranked Ohio Wesleyan opened the game with a 12-2 run and went on to record a 91-77 win over Albion on Friday. He opened the evening's scoring with a 3-pointer in the first minute of the contest, hit another long-range bomb that gave the Bishops a 12-2 lead, and finished with a career-high 20 points. Orr then buried five 3-pointers as the Bishops built a 19-point first-half lead and held off a frantic Trine rally for a 79-72 win on Saturday. Orr sank a 3-pointer during a 12-0 run that broke a 6-6 tie, drilled another 3-pointer to stretch the margin to 23-8, and later hit 2 more 3-pointers to give the Bishops a 29-10 lead with 6:52 left in the first half. Orr finished with 21 points, going 7-for-13 from long range, to establish a career best for the second consecutive game. On the week, Orr connected on 13 of 23 shots from beyond the arc and averaged 20.5 points per game.
