Brown Named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week

Ohio Wesleyan University junior Emily Brown (New Concord/John Glenn) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of May 1, it was announced by the NCAC.
Brown, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan women's track & field team, was named Women's Field Event Athlete of the Week.
Brown won the heptathlon competition with a total of 4229 points at the NCAC combined events meet on Saturday and Sunday. She turned in the top performance in each of Sunday's 3 events with a leap of 18-6 in the long jump, a throw of 96-11 in the javelin, and a time of 2:29.98 in the 800-meter run. Brown had finished Saturday's competition with the meet's best effort in the 200-meter dash (:26.33). She tied for fourth overall in the high jump (4-8¾) and finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.92) and seventh in the shot put (26-1½).
