Ohio Wesleyan University senior Emily Brown (New Concord/John Glenn) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of April 30, it was announced by the NCAC.
Brown, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan women's track & field team, was named Women's Field Events Athlete of the Week.
Brown won the heptathlon championship at the NCAC combined events competition on Saturday and Sunday. She overcame a deficit of nearly 150 points on Sunday to to take the title, winning the final event, the 800-meter run, in 2:30.01 to record 693 points. She also had the meet's best performances in the long jump (17-7½) and 200-meter dash (:26.42) and was third overall in the javelin, shot put, and 100-meter hurdles. It was her second consecutive NCAC heptathlon title.
