Ohio Wesleyan University senior Nathan Strome (Sidney) was named North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 23, it was announced by the NCAC.
Strome, a first baseman, batted .478 on the week as the Bishop baseball team won 5 of 6 games to clinch a spot in the NCAC tournament. Strome tied a school record with 2 triples at Denison, and smashed a 3-run homer to put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay in the nightcap of a doubleheader sweep of Wittenberg on Sunday. His 11 hits on the week included 4 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 home runs, good for a slugging percentage of 1.067. Strome also drove in 8 runs and stole a base.
