I loved the campus and the smaller-school atmosphere was ideal.

Name:  Sara Bias

Class Year:  2024

Major:  Exercise science

Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I loved the campus and the smaller-school atmosphere was ideal.  It gave me the opportunity to play for a collegiate softball program that felt like a really good fit while being able to study my desired major.

Why did you choose your major?
I have wanted to pursue physical therapy as a career path for a very long time.  This department is allowing me to meet all of the requirements necessary to attend a graduate-level physical therapy program, as well as giving me a ton of hands-on experiences and interesting content within the area of study.

Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
I used to be a lot more superstitious but I definitely still have my fair share of interesting habits.  I am superstitious about what ways I will do my hair depending on how I played with that specific hairstyle throughout the season.  I also always have a peanut butter sandwich either before games or between games while listening to specific music.

How/why did you choose your sport/position?
I grew up playing a lot of different sports but I always took a liking to softball, thanks to my dad.  I was lucky enough to grow up being coached by him so that made practicing often much more accessible and made me love it that much more. This sport has always been what made me the happiest and most confident version of myself.

What are your strengths as an athlete (as an individual)?
My strengths are that I am a hype man that is constantly wanting to tell everyone how good they are at what they do and I would like to say that I am pretty driven in what I do.

Is there a specific coach or teammate who has helped you get where you are?
Two of my old travel ball coaches, Keith Buckley and Joe Yocabet, are some of the greatest people that I was lucky enough to play under.  They wanted nothing but success for every person that they coached and they instilled so much confidence in me as an athlete and person.  I am actually not sure I will ever be able to thank them enough for the impact that they had on me in this game and in life.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
I think I would want to be able to teleport because that would save me so much time and money.

What is your favorite place to eat in Delaware, and what is your go-to dish there?
My favorite place in Delaware (I am sure my family would agree with me) is Son of Thurman!  My go-to dish is the classic cheeseburger with a side of fries. You cannot go wrong with that restaurant.

Which reality show would you like to star on and why?
I would absolutely go on Beat Bobby Flay.  If I am being honest, I cannot cook very well or as fast as those people do, but that has been one of my favorites to watch with my family.
