Ohio Wesleyan University junior Mason Espinosa (Cookeville, Tenn.) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 12, it was announced by the NCAC.
Espinosa was named Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Espinosa, a quarterback, threw a pair of second-quarter touchdown passes as Ohio Wesleyan built a 23-0 halftime lead and went on to defeat Wooster, 36-12, on Saturday. On the day, he completed 25 of 49 passes for 352 yards and 4 TDs. The win gave Ohio Wesleyan a 6-1 record in NCAC play, clinching a share of the conference championship. The conference championship is Ohio Wesleyan's first since 1989, when the Bishops split the NCAC title with Kenyon. Ohio Wesleyan finishes the season with a 9-1 record, tying the school record for wins in a season.
