Ohio Wesleyan University senior Andy Winters (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 3, it was announced by the NCAC.
Winters was named Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Winters, a guard, posted the first triple-double by an Ohio Wesleyan men's basketball player in the Battling Bishops' 76-62 win over Allegheny on Saturday. Winters finished with 12 points and recorded career bests with 11 rebounds and 13 assists, with the 13 assists also tying the school record set by Joe Thomas against Marietta on Feb. 12, 1977, and matched by Dirk Miller against Oberlin on Jan. 14, 1989. Winters opened the week with 10 points and 4 assists in a 64-53 win over traditional archrival Capital.
