...I was confident that if baseball was taken away from me due to injury, I would be more than comfortable continuing my education and receiving a degree from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Name:  Jacob Lowery

Class year:  2027

Major:  Business administration major, psychology minor

Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose Ohio Wesleyan for the reputation and academic rigor, as well as to play baseball.  I was confident that if baseball was taken away from me due to injury, I would be more than comfortable continuing my education and receiving a degree from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Why did you choose your major?
I have always been geared towards the business field.  Having entered college as the founder of two businesses, I was confident that business management would be the route for me to pursue.

Why did you choose to compete in sports at Ohio Wesleyan?
Playing college baseball was forever a dream of mine, so it was a natural choice to compete here at OWU.

Which is your favorite position?
I have a love for both of my defensive roles.  There are things I love about pitching, but I always have loved playing the field and getting the uniform dirty.

What event/sport other than your own would you like to try?
I would like to play competitive cornhole and/or pickleball.

What is your theme song?
"Mr. Brightside" by The Killers.

What is your ideal travel destination?
My ideal travel destination is anywhere with a beach.  Dream vacation is Italy.

What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a student-athlete?
A piece of advice for prospective student-athletes at the collegiate level would be to soak up your time doing what you're doing each day.  Make the most of every moment in and out of the classroom because tomorrow is never promised.

What is your favorite season and why?
Spring/summer; nothing better than baseball season.

What is your dream job and why?
My dream job could look like many things, but it would be particularly special if I could be a part of one of the Cleveland professional sports organizations, especially the Guardians.  As a diehard Clevelander and a baseball player myself, working on the business side of baseball would be a match made in heaven.

What is your favorite book and why?
"Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game" by Michael Lewis.  Everybody knows the movie version of the book and me being such a huge fan of the story, I love that the book is just a more historically accurate version of the movie. It is ultimately just a baseball classic.
