CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University volleyball team traveled south to take on Mount St. Joseph in a Thursday night matchup. The Batting Bishops would dominate the contest, winning in straight sets for the third time this season.
Ohio Wesleyan improves to 9-12 on the year, including a 2-1 record in conference play. Mount St. Joseph drops to 7-11, and 2-0 in the HCAC.
The opening set was tightly contested, with both sides trading points and sitting deadlocked at 16. The Red and Black found momentum shortly after, going on a 9-2 run to claim the set 25-18. Set two followed a similar pattern, with the teams knotted at 13 before OWU strung together key points to earn a 25-21 set victory. Set three was all Bishops, as they soared out to a 6-0 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 25-9 victory to close the match.

The Bishops tallied 41 kills, as
Mason Campbell led the way with 10, followed by
Jordanne Shannon with nine, and
Natalie Dieball with eight
OWU accounted for six service aces, led by
Abby Nulph with three.
Lily Bechina,
Avery Krause, and
Maggi Wall each recorded one.
The Red and Black made seven blocks on the defensive end. Dieball and Nulph both recorded three block assists.
Lily Bechina was the leading setter with 29 assists.
The Battling Bishops totaled 47 digs, led by
Bella Guzzetta with 14, followed by Bechina with 10, and Dieball with nine.
