Bishops Draw with DePauw

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's soccer team returned home to face DePauw on Saturday night. It was a relatively quiet night, with neither side able to sustain much offense, ultimately ending in a scoreless draw.

OWU moves to 6-3-5 overall and 2-1-1 in the NCAC. DePauw moves to 8-2-4 overall and 3-0-2 in conference play.

The Battling Bishops attack had four solid scoring chances, two in the first half and two in the second half, but all would end up in the hands of the keeper.

THE NUMBERS
Ohio Wesleyan outshot DePauw 8-6 overall and 4-3 in shots on target.

Mathias Koo (1 SH, 1 SOG), Gabe O'Reilly (1 SH, 1 SOG), Luis Cañas (1 SH, SOG), and Sam Robledo (1 SH, 1 SOG) put forth the best attempts for the Bishops. Tristan Ruiz de Somocurcio (1 SH) and Jack Jennings (1 SH) accounted for the other two chances.

Sam Whitman (6-3-5) played the full 90 minutes in the cage, making three saves.

The Bishops are back on the road on Wednesday as they play NCAC-newcomers John Carroll in University Heights. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
