NFHCA RELEASE
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – On Thursday, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced the 60 Division III student-athletes named to the 2025 NFHCA Collegiate Senior Team. Among those named was Ohio Wesleyan University senior midfielder
Alyssa Markell.
According to the NFCHA release, "This honor celebrates their competitive excellence, leadership, and lasting influence within their programs. Selections are based on nominations submitted by NFHCA member coaches and reviewed by committees composed entirely of NFHCA coach members. Seniors are eligible for selection only once during their collegiate careers."
Markell started 12 of her 13 games played this season after returning from injury and made her mark as a defensive presence in the midfield, also added two assists on the offensive end. She was recently named first team All-NCAC for the third straight season and has previously garnered two second team NFHCA All-Region awards as well, with 2025 NFHCA All-Region winners set to be announced in early December. Markell concluded her collegiate career having played in 71 games with 69 starts, scoring 13 goals and dishing out nine assists for a total of 35 points.
