HOLLAND, Mich. – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's soccer team started their season off on the road at Hope on Friday night, ultimately falling after conceding three first half goals and playing to a 0-3 final.

The Battling Bishops start the season 0-1-0. Hope begins 1-0-0.

Hope pulled ahead early, scoring in just the third minute. The Dutch would add two more in the 23rd and 26th to take a three-goal lead. On the other end, the Bishops' offense was unable to get going as time eventually ran out, resulting in a 0-3 loss.

THE NUMBERS
OWU was held to just two chances, both coming in the second half.

Tristan Ruiz de Somocurcio and Sam Owusu Sarfo were responsible for the only shots by the Red and Black.

Sam Whitman (0-1-0) made the start in goal, playing the full 90 minutes. He made two saves.
