Bishops Fall in Season-Opener at MSJ

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's soccer team (0-1-0, 0-0-0 NCAC) opened up the 2025 season on the road against Mount St. Joseph (1-0-0, 0-0-0 Landmark) on Friday night, ultimately ending in a 0-2 loss.

Mount St. Joseph would score one in each half, scoring in the 11th minute and the 49th minute. Despite battling throughout, the Bishops were never able to find the back of the net, ending the game at 0-2.

THE NUMBERS
OWU put up the majority of the games chances, outshooting MSJ 17-11 and putting 10 shots on target. 

Avery Curtin and Kaia Vorenkamp led the offensive attack with five shots apiece and three shots on goal each.

Tiffany Trinh sent three shots at the goal with two finding their mark.

Ava Kolettis and Jazlyn Brooker each put a shot on target.

Natalie Ryan (0-1-0) made the start in goal and played the full 90 minutes, making one save.

The Bishops will be back in action on Sunday as they head up to Michigan for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff at Adrian.
