DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's soccer team hosted Carnegie Mellon on Wednesday night, looking for their first win on the season. An early goal by OWU and late strike by Carnegie Mellon left the contest tied after regulation.
OWU is still in search of their first win of the season, now 0-2-2 on the year. Carnegie Mellon is now 2-0-3.
The Battling Bishops started fast, as
Aiden Wightman found the back of the net in the sixth minute with an assist from
Jack Jennings. A strong defensive unit anchored by
Gabe O'Reilly,
Carson Browning, and
Paddy O'Reilly then held a quality Carnegie Mellon squad scoreless up until the 88th minute. It was then that the Tartans found the net late off the leg of Idan Garten to equalize. Unfortunately, after that, time ran out for the Bishops to respond, leaving the game tied at 1-1.
