DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University men's soccer team celebrated senior day as they took on Berea College Saturday afternoon.

Tristan Ruiz de Somocurcio, Mitchell Cosner,
Gabe O'Reilly,
Rowan Kriebel,
Aiden Wightman,
Ryan Betts,
Chrissy Guerra,
Mathias Koo, and
Jake Lash received recognition for their contributions to the Ohio Wesleyan men's soccer program over the last four years.
Senior day wasn't the only cause for celebration, as the Bishops earned their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory. Two second half goals would carry the Red and Black over the Mountaineers.

Matt Weiss earns his first victory at the helm. Berea drops to 0-5-0.
The Battling Bishops would generate several opportunities to score in the first half, tallying 18 shots, but were unable to capitalize.
In the 75th minute, the Bishops would finally break onto the scoreboard as Betts sent a header towards net that was rebounded by freshman
Matt Boyd, who buried it into the back of the net.
The Red and Black weren't quite done yet, as Luis Cañas received a pass from
Sam Robledo and tacked on an insurance goal in the 84th minute.

Paddy O'Reilly anchored a resilient Bishop defense.
THE NUMBERS
Ohio Wesleyan held a significant advantage in shots, 35-7, and shots on goal, 14-3.
The Bishops would earn nine corners to Berea's three.
Matt Boyd netted the second goal of his young career. The freshman took three shots off the bench, with two chances on goal.
Ryan Betts tallied his first assist of the season, also taking three chances with two on target.
Luis Cañas recorded the first goal of his career. He would take seven shots in the contest, with three on goal.

Sam Whitman (1-2-2) got the start in goal and played the full 90 minutes, making three saves.
