Bishops Avoid Sweep, Suffer Loss on the Road at Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University volleyball team traveled to Heidelberg for a rare non-conference rematch on Wednesday night. The Battling Bishops took the first match of the season in straight sets on August 29th. Despite dropping the first two sets, the Bishops showed some fight in sets three and four, winning set three in extra points and coming within two points of forcing a fifth set in set four. Ultimately, OWU would fall, 1-3.

Ohio Wesleyan suffers their fourth straight loss, now 3-4. Heidelberg moves to 8-2.

The Battling Bishops got out to a slow start, losing sets one and two 17-25 and 16-25. OWU seemed to find their groove in set three as they competed point-for-point to a 26-24 finish in extra points. The back-and-forth battle continued into set four as the Red and Black looked poised to send the match to a fifth set. Unfortunately, Ohio Wesleyan came up just short, losing the set 23-25, and the game 1-3.
