DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's soccer team hosted Ohio Northern on Friday night as day one of the OWU Classic got underway. Both teams created plenty of chances, but strong defense kept the score locked at 0-0 through regulation.
A defensive front led by
Beatrice Douglas-Arnold,
Caroline Prahst, and
Izzy Trahey-Matzen stood firm throughout the match against a quality Ohio Northern squad.
OWU moves to 3-1-2 on the season. Ohio Northern to 1-1-2.
THE NUMBERS
The Battling Bishops would get 18 shots off, with three on goal. Ohio Northern totaled seven, also tallying three on goal.
Offensively, the Bishops were led by Kaia Vorencamp and
Tiffany Trinh, each creating four chances and registering one shot on goal.
Ava Bruns and
Halle Dacek added three and two shots, respectively.
OWU's defense secured their fourth shutout of the season.
Senior
Natalie Ryan (3-1-2) was outstanding in net once again, collecting three saves on the night.
